The witness's great-aunt recounted that as a young girl around 1905 she and two siblings were walking home from a party at night when they saw a dark-haired, man-like thing sitting in a field beside the road. The entity silently watched them and turned its head as they passed, its eyes reflecting the moonlight. The three walked home arm in arm, with one looking back to check if it was following.

A relative's companion heard movement in brush near a night fire, then perceived a very large bipedal animal run across the road into woods, followed about ten minutes later by a strange howl from that direction.
