LAST NIGHT (10/11/24): Possible sighting of a sasquatch just outside Avery CA (Stanislaus NF)
The witness was outside a cabin at night with a high-power spotlight while taking a dog out to relieve itself. After hearing a noise from the woods behind the property, the witness shone the light on a tall light-brown upright figure fleeing away. The figure was glimpsed briefly at close range and then again at greater distance as dogs in that direction barked, and the witness estimated it at over eight feet tall and distinct from deer or bears.
Family hears strange sounds near West Point at dusk
A couple picnicking by a creek at dusk heard a loud howl from downstream with gibberish-like barking between howls, then an answering howl from the ridge behind them. Cattle downstream moved upstream away from the sound. They left at dark, drove downstream toward the first howl location, saw a buck fleeing the creek bottom, and found no people at creek access areas.
Campers hear late night screams near Arnold
The witness and a friend were stationary outdoors at night when they heard three loud, powerful screams from uphill in dense, rugged terrain. The first scream was estimated about 50 yards away, with subsequent screams sounding progressively farther at about 100 and 200 yards and minutes apart. The witness described the sound as human-like but guttural with bass, offensive or warning in character, and unlike known wildlife. After looking around and firing rocks with a slingshot, they heard the final, more distant scream.

A group camping in the Sierra foothills was awakened before dawn by prolonged loud screaming vocalizations occurring in repeated series. The sounds began at 4:45 a.m. and continued for about 20 minutes, with additional shorter series afterward and again around 6:30 a.m. from a different direction. Six campers heard the sounds, which the reporter felt resembled reference recordings and were not known forest animal sounds.

Twelve hunters were sleeping in a meadow camp after a day of bow hunting. Around 2 a.m. something heavy ran through the camp emitting a high-pitched female-like scream. The runner shook a truck as it passed and knocked over a full ice chest but was not seen in the dark. No unusual prints were found the next morning.

The witness and family were camping in the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness in 1981 when deep howls were heard nightly for three nights from about 11 p.m. until dawn. The sounds reportedly began after two men with dogs went into the forest after dark and circled a ridge before returning near camp. A pet dog was described as very afraid, and the witness said the howls did not resemble known bobcat or mountain lion sounds.

The witness spent a winter night sleeping on a couch in an unfinished hillside cabin while two dogs slept nearby. During the night a large-sounding movement was heard outside that agitated the dogs for about fifteen minutes, but the witness did not look outside. The next morning the witness found a line of large five-toed footprints in snow that appeared to pass the cabin, step over a barbed-wire fence, and jump a creek before continuing uphill, but heavy snow later covered them.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent near a river. Late at night they heard loud screams and then footsteps on a dry creek bed behind the tent. The witness saw a large silhouette move past a tree toward the river, heard splashing and screaming, then footsteps approach the tent and run away. They waited for daylight and left quickly.

The witness and a relative were deer hunting and camped in a remote area. The witness scouted a hilltop path one afternoon, then returned the next morning after light rain to find large human-like barefoot prints overlying his own prints from the day before. He followed them along the ridge until they left the trail into trees and underbrush, where he stopped.
