Adult recounters childhood sighting on Black Mountain
The witness was inside an upper house getting ready for bed and looked out a window at the night sky. They saw the dark silhouette of a tall figure walking past, with only the top half visible above the treetops. The figure was estimated at seven feet or more, with a mullet-like head shape, a slight slouch, and arms swinging like pendulums while walking.

In fall 1986 at dusk the witness was driving up a mountain dirt road when he passed a tall, hairy upright figure standing beside a large tree. The figure turned its head to watch the vehicle go by but was gone when the witness turned around and drove back minutes later. The next morning the same tree was found fallen across the road and was being cut up, destroying any possible tracks.
