Deer hunter encounters tall, upright, hairy creature near Wright Patman Lake
Late one afternoon the witness walked through a creek bottom toward a relative's deer stand. He smelled a foul odor and heard something large moving in a swampy thicket. The animal crossed an opening 50 to 75 yards away, and he watched it for about 30 seconds as it covered about 30 feet in a few long steps. He described it as a 6 to 7 foot tall, broad, stooped biped covered in dark brown hair.

The witness and a companion went squirrel hunting in a wooded area early on a Saturday morning. After firing into a squirrel nest, they heard an extremely loud roar twice that seemed to shake the woods. They saw nothing, ran out of the woods past agitated cows at a nearby farm, and did not stop until reaching the witness's house.
