Very close daylight sighting by a woodcutter driving down a logging road east of Nordman
The witness was driving his pickup on a logging road when a creature stepped off a 5-ft embankment about 30 ft away and slid down to the road on its feet. It walked alongside the slow-moving truck within arm's length, then crossed in front, holding a hand toward the hood before leaving the road with very long strides into undergrowth. The witness braked, waited, then got out to search for footprints but found none.

The witness was riding in a pickup with a relative scouting timber in a steep mountainous area when a large hairy upright animal crossed the road in front of the truck. The animal came down one bank, crossed in a few fast strides, and went down the opposite slope out of sight while brush broke behind it. The relative stopped and got out with a rifle but could not relocate it.

In the summer of 1967, the witness was riding as a passenger in a pickup returning from farm work when he felt tingling and looked behind the vehicle. He saw a tall, long-haired bipedal animal covered in hair that crossed the road behind them in four steps before distance and dust hid it. The animal did not look toward the truck. The witness kept the sighting secret for years and did not know if his two companions saw it.
