Two coworkers working the overnight shift stopped while moving railroad cars and saw a very tall dark figure walking in the distance near an illuminated warehouse building. Both witnesses reacted with surprise and did not approach the figure. The sighting occurred around 1:30 a.m. at a distance described as about a football field.
Trucker's daylight sighting of a Sasquatch in Francis Marion National Forest
The witness reported driving a big rig toward a steel plant in spring 2021 when spotting a tall upright creature on the right side of the road about 60-90 feet into the woods. The area was swampy with flood water up to the road edge, and the witness did not stop. The look lasted only a few seconds but was detailed enough to note size, hair pattern, and skin color.
Possible early morning sighting by a couple driving near Hedgesville
The witness was driving to work in the morning when a deer ran across the road and caused slowing. The witness and a companion then noticed a bipedal figure running through the woods in the opposite direction, uphill over fallen trees. They watched it from behind for about six seconds from 50 to 75 yards away and described it as 6 to 6.5 feet tall with a dark bulky build and speed too fast for a human. They stated it was not a deer, bear, human, or other familiar animal.
Possible road crossing sighting in the Francis Marion National Forest
The witness was driving on Hwy 402 at dusk to load steel when an animal was seen ahead on all fours crossing the road. The witness first thought horse or bear but rejected those due to unnatural gait, thin body, excessive height, long dark brown hair, and small head. The witness slowed and stopped where it entered thick woods and estimated it would stand about 9 feet tall, believing it was a bigfoot.
Sighting along trail in SE part of Francis Marion National Forest
The witness was hiking alone on a narrow wooded trail searching for snakes. About 50 yards ahead, a brown human-shaped figure about person-sized or bigger leaped across the trail from left to right on two legs. The witness stopped to listen, then walked to the crossing point but saw nothing in the dense woods and heard no movement. The witness continued hiking while looking back and only later considered the sighting might be out of the ordinary.

The witness and a companion were camping at night when they heard something heavy climbing the bluff toward camp. They fled to the truck and drove slowly past the camp entrance with headlights on. A tall, hairy biped stepped into the road, stared at them, then walked away on two legs. They found larger-than-human footprints and disturbed ground the next day.
Late-night road-crossing sighting by firefighter near the Potomac River
Late at night the witness was driving on a rural road with a farm on one side and an apple orchard on the other when a large hair-covered figure crossed the road ahead of the vehicle. The figure paused in the middle of the road to look toward the headlights, allowing a clear view, then continued across. The witness kept driving, was shaken by the sighting, and avoided that road afterward.
