Vacationer has a possible daytime encounter while taking a walk on Shell Island Beach
The witness took a boat with family to Shell Island and walked inland from the beach toward dense forest. About 7 yards from the treeline he heard a loud scream-screech, looked up, and saw a large brown mass moving right through the woods for about a second. He ran back to the beach and told family, who did not believe him.

Possible vocalizations heard by four-wheelers near Southport
Three people were driving slowly in a Jeep through woods north of Panama City in fall 2000 and stopped to make a navigational decision. They twice heard an extremely loud, strange vocalization they described as screams or howls. Despite lifelong familiarity with local wildlife, all three agreed they could not identify the source.
