Loud vocalizations heard
The witness and a companion were in bed at home when their three dogs barked intensely and then fell suddenly silent. Shortly after the silence, the witness heard a loud deep grumbly yell ending deeper that she had never heard before. The companion also said he heard it while half-asleep, and the dogs remained silent afterward.
Howling followed by speech-like vocalization heard
The witness was sitting outdoors with four companions late at night when a distant loud howl-like sound repeated several times, each lasting about 15 seconds. A second prolonged echoing sound resembling garbled speech then continued for about five minutes. Nearby dogs across the lake began barking after the second sound started.

The witness was called outside by a relative who had heard a strange sound in the forest. Both then heard loud, resonant, high-pitched vocalizations from the woods, later seeming to come from two different directions as if answering each other. Dogs nearby barked toward the forest while the sounds occurred. After several exchanges over a few minutes the sounds stopped and did not recur.

The witness and three companions were hunting deer at dusk in brushy river bottomland. While separated along irrigation canals and field edges, they heard prolonged loud screaming with gurgling and hooting from about 100 yards away in dark woods. Frightened, they regrouped, fled to their vehicle, picked up the fourth hunter on the road, and left the area.
Vocalizing, smelly animal circles cabin
Four people were staying overnight in a remote cabin when they reported foul odors followed by very loud warbling sounds that seemed to move around the building. One of the occupants captured the sounds on a portable tape recorder. The recording was reportedly never submitted for analysis.
