The witness and his father were scouting a river-bottom area for deer stand sites at dusk when they heard a loud, long, high-pitched scream three times from the edge of the woods about 150 yards away. They could not see the source as darkness fell. Perceiving the vocalizations as directed at them to leave, they ended scouting and returned to camp.
