Possible sighting by motorists south of Green Lake
The witness family was driving between Green Lake and Big River around midday when they noticed a very tall brownish-red figure that had crossed the highway. The figure moved across the ditch in a few long, fluid strides with a forward-leaning posture and entered thick bush where it disappeared from view. Occupants of a green caravan traveling ahead appeared to have seen the same figure.
Possible sighting by duck hunter near Wakaw
The witness had been duck hunting and got his truck stuck in mud, then started walking to find help. While walking along a grid road in rain he saw a large broad-shouldered figure move very fast into a treed valley and disappear after a few strides. At the apparent crossing point he found a single large water-filled footprint. Earlier that day he had found seven dead birds packed under a crop swath a few hundred yards away.

The witness and a companion were bowhunting about 200 yards apart near dark when both heard loud primal screaming from about 100 yards away. Each feared the other was being attacked and ran toward the other, then found neither had made the sounds. They left the area immediately and the witness says he has not returned.

While hiking a trail with a companion to look for the source of prior night sounds, the witness found a single fresh barefoot-like print beside the trail. The witness compared it to a shoe, tried to duplicate the depth, took video and outlined it with sticks for photos, then left quickly as it grew dark. The area also had large fallen-tree formations and abundant deer tracks.

In 1995 the witness was riding in the backseat of a car driving home from Barrier Lake after midnight in rain and thunderstorms, watching the ditch for deer. During lightning flashes the witness saw a tall, featureless black human-like figure run from a field across the ditch and road in front of the vehicle into the treeline. Only the witness and the front passenger who were watching that side saw it; the driver and others did not notice it.
