The witness was sleeping in a large reenactment camp in forested hills when loud, deep howling woke him. The sounds first came from a distant ridge and about an hour later came from much closer down the road, waking many others in camp. The witness loaded his weapon before falling back asleep and heard the sounds move farther away twice more. No tracks were found the next morning.

The witness found three large fresh scats of unrecognized plant-based material and a large humanlike footprint beside one scat. The pair quickly covered the fire and drove out.

While crossing a breached beaver dam they found three sets of very fresh, large tracks in soft mud with long strides that left the mud and climbed a steep rocky hill. They reported feeling watched shortly before the find, felt shaken, and left the area quickly with no further incident.

A couple starting a barbecue fire at their ranch heard repeated deep, low-frequency hollers from the direction of the pasture tree line. Horses in the pasture ran toward the couple and appeared spooked. The couple put out the fire and left, estimating the source was no more than a quarter-mile away.

While hiking alone during bow season, the witness followed a strong odor to a sunlit dried-pond clearing. From the treeline about 25-35 yards away, the witness watched a dark seated shape shift back and forth as if focused on something in the grass ahead of it. Unsure whether it was a stump, cow, or moose, the witness returned to camp and noted the camp dog acted unusually nervous.

The sounds appeared to circle the camp and continued despite banging pots and pans and firing a shotgun into the air. The group packed up and waited in their truck until about 4 a.m. while the sounds persisted, then left. They later found openly left food untouched and found no tracks.

While fishing, the witness noticed a very foul odor, then heard sounds like something striking a tree, followed by a high-pitched howling/scream-like sound and more tree-striking sounds. Feeling watched and unnerved, the witness left the area, and on the trail out noticed fresh broken branches on a pine tree.

While wading along the flooded shoreline the day after hiking in, they found fresh, huge human-like footprints in a sandy area that led west into the swamp. The prints were described as 14-15 inches long, narrow for their length, with a running stride and deep depressions. They recorded the prints and surrounding swamp with a video camera.

The investigator also spoke with nearby residents, including a child who relayed a mother's nighttime driveway encounter, but no creature was seen during the visit.

The husband went outside with a flashlight and saw red-orange eyeshine well above normal human face height, then a tall upright shadow running toward the southwest. No further screams occurred and the dogs stayed agitated for 10-15 minutes. The couple decided not to call emergency services.
