Man hears multiple moans and sees a gray creature outside of Bloomington
The witness and a companion arrived at a house at night and heard repeated loud moans. After the witness called back, nearby trees shook and dogs barked in succession. A grayish two-legged figure then ran quickly across a field with long strides and dropped behind vegetation. Shortly after, metal clanking was heard and lawn furniture was found displaced.
Wood knocks heard and tracks found near Canton
The witness was walking with a dog across a frozen swamp in a woodlot when a line of bare human-like footprints with toes was noticed on ice and bare ground. The witness photographed the prints with a knife for scale within minutes of the discovery. No creature was seen, only the footprints.

The witness was sitting with two companions around a fire behind the house near a wooded swamp late at night. They repeatedly heard a long whoop-like growling sound from the woods but saw nothing. The first occurrence was in late summer 2008, and similar sounds were heard again in March 2009.

The witness was walking down a woods road when three loud knocks were heard from brush to the left. The witness knocked back on a pine tree and received a two-knock reply, followed by another striking sound from the opposite side. The witness later found a wooden club and holes near a pond, and found a pile of feces on the trail when returning the next day.

A couple at their home in northeast Georgia reported hearing a loud, unfamiliar howl- or scream-like sound late at night on about four occasions between February and mid-March 2009. The husband, who is often awake at night, first noticed the sounds and woke his wife to listen. They said neighborhood dogs barked as if following something moving quickly through the area and that the sound did not resemble known local wildlife. They did not report seeing an animal.

The witness was asleep in a tent when rocks struck the tent. He looked out and saw a large hair-covered figure in nearby brush staring at him, then shouted and woke his tent companion. In the morning the group found disturbed brush and stones beside both tents but no footprints, and left instead of staying another night.

The witness was out running and during cool down noticed possible footprints in dried mud beside a road. The impressions were larger than the witness's size 13 shoe, some showing toe impressions, spaced about 6 to 7 feet apart in a straight narrow line and sunk rather than skidded. The witness photographed the impressions but remained unsure they were actual tracks because of many nearby boot and shoe prints.

A relative found large tracks behind a horse pasture two days after a snowstorm, and the witness followed them about half a mile toward ponds, then photographed and measured them. The tracks were reported as having a 52-inch stride, toe indications and hair-like lines, with one track 17 inches long. Warm rain washed the tracks away before an investigator could view them in person.

On the evening of Feb. 14, 2009, the witness and her husband were in their upstairs bedroom with the windows open when they heard unusual monkey-like whooping sounds from the woods around the house. The series of whoops was heard twice and prompted barking from neighborhood dogs. They drove briefly around the area but did not hear the sounds again.

The witness woke around 2 a.m. and went to the kitchen for milk. While at the counter she saw a face with large red glowing eyes looking in the rear window for several seconds before she ducked behind the counter. When she turned on exterior lights and looked again, nothing was visible.
Hunter encounters freakishly large tracks in a field south of Cresco
The witness was hunting on public land in northeast Iowa just before dark when they found large single-file tracks in snow crossing an alfalfa field. The stride was far longer than the witness felt a human could manage in that snow depth, and the prints were later described as men's size 13-14 without visible toes. The tracks were estimated to be a few days old and were heading east.

The witness and relatives reported finding two sets of large four-toed footprints in snow that crossed residential yards. One trackway led to a garbage can where bags had been pulled out and torn open, then continued to a neighboring driveway and toward woods and grass. Photographs were taken with a shoe for scale, showing deep impressions larger than the shoe. No creature was seen, and no unusual sounds or odors were noted the prior night.

The witness was camped in a tent at a primitive site in mixed forest when, in the dark early-morning hours, footsteps were heard crunching through dry leaves off-trail. The unseen walker came from dense woods behind the tent, crossed the trail, and continued east smoothly without a light. The witness stayed still and never saw the source, but later insisted it was certainly bipedal and not a deer.

The witness and a companion arrived at dusk at their regular riverbank fishing spot to fish overnight. While gathering firewood, the witness found small barefoot human-like footprints in sand at the water's edge and showed them to the companion. They joked about the find and dismissed it at the time, only later interpreting the prints as possibly left by a juvenile after other experiences.
Possible nighttime sighting by a homeowner near Bonnie
Late at night in fall 2010, the witness was at home when barking dogs prompted an investigation and a large dark figure was seen crossing the pasture toward the barn. The witness got a firearm, stepped outside, fired a warning shot and then multiple shots as the figure ran through wire fencing and disappeared into corn behind the house while a dog chased. The shots did not appear to slow it.

The witness and two relatives were sitting in an enclosed deer blind near a river swamp in the morning. They heard three loud sounds like wood being struck nearby, followed shortly by three similar sounds from farther into the swamp. The woods were otherwise silent, and the group dismantled the blind and left soon after.

The witness stepped outside for a brief nighttime smoke break and noticed movement in the front yard. He turned to see the back, shoulders and head of a very large, hunched, hair-covered creature retreating behind bushes near a yard light. He could not see its face, legs or feet and later measured a nearby limb to estimate its height.

Late at night the son was awake in his bedroom when he heard scraping at his window, followed by sniffing-like breathing and a loud grunt. The dogs penned by the window did not bark. He left the bedroom for the couch and was afraid to sleep there for several nights.

On November 1, 2009, the witness and his wife were camping in a public campground late in the evening. In moonlight they noticed a large, broad, dark shape about six feet tall moving on two legs among the trees near camp, which appeared to stop, look toward them, and sway. With no other campers present, the couple became spooked, packed up, and left.

The witness was walking at night from a camper toward town when a loud fall-like noise occurred ahead in the road. A shadowy fur-covered biped stood up about 30 feet away and walked calmly across the road before disappearing into vegetation. The witness continued past the spot believing the creature stayed hidden nearby without further interaction.
