The witness stayed awake while the others slept, and companions in camp said the next morning they had not heard the calls.

After passing it, he reversed and saw it beside the road bending down a small pine branch to peer at him for a few seconds. They also heard what sounded like large rocks splashing into the water at a distance. Feeling increasingly uneasy, they left the area a short time later.

Thinking it could be a bear, the witness backed away and left the woods quickly, then saw a very large animal running through the woods.
