Hikers find possible footprints by a cornfield north of Norris
The witness and a companion were hiking when the companion found large footprints in mud beside a field. They described three deep prints with visible toes that were larger than a boot and spaced wider than a human step, appearing to go into the field and then back into the woods. An investigator later recorded measurements of fifteen inches long by six inches wide.

The witness was driving home at night with a companion in the front seat and two children in the back seat. A tall creature with long chestnut hair jogged across the road in front of the car in the headlights and went into the woods. Two companions hiking back toward their car noticed the woods go silent and heard something moving in brush alongside them and crossing behind them, along with a musky skunk-like odor. Near the last bend the reporter glanced back and saw a wide, dark-brown figure squatting beside a low dead tree about 100 yards away. They kept walking, then ran to the car and drove off and rarely spoke of it afterward.

Late at night in fall 2010, the witness was at home when barking dogs prompted an investigation and a large dark figure was seen crossing the pasture toward the barn. The witness got a firearm, stepped outside, fired a warning shot and then multiple shots as the figure ran through wire fencing and disappeared into corn behind the house while a dog chased. The shots did not appear to slow it.

The witness was walking at night from a camper toward town when a loud fall-like noise occurred ahead in the road. A shadowy fur-covered biped stood up about 30 feet away and walked calmly across the road before disappearing into vegetation. The witness continued past the spot believing the creature stayed hidden nearby without further interaction.

The witness was bow hunting and was packing his truck to leave about an hour after dark with his flashlight off. A small noise from his tree stand startled something behind the truck that ran away down a hill on two legs making loud crashing noise. From the bottom of the hill and while moving away across a road and fence, the animal vocalized about a dozen times, stopping about every 50 yards to turn and scream toward the witness.
Family experiences large rocks being thrown and hear an unknown scream outside the Shawnee National Forest
The witness and two relatives were setting up a telescope near a group campfire when rocks landed near them on three occasions while movement was heard in dense dark woods with nothing seen. Those at the fire denied throwing anything. Hours later a loud high-pitched scream was heard that the witness did not recognize, and a next-day search found no clear footprints due to heavy leaf cover.

The witness reports finding a single large footprint along a forest trail in a small forest preserve and photographing it in daylight in July 2008. The witness was camping with family and awoke early unable to sleep. While tending the fire in the early morning, she heard distant loud howls lasting several minutes, which were followed by distant dogs barking. The companion and children did not hear the sounds, but the family dog stopped and looked toward the sounds. The companion later played posted howl recordings, which the witness said were a close match.

After dark the witness went down to a lake dock to remove a battery charger from a bass boat and shined a spotlight across the cove. He noticed a tall dark figure in 6 to 7 foot grass, whistled at it and heard a different whistle returned. When he looked back the figure was moving away through the weeds, and he ran back to the house.

In darkness before dawn, a hunter walking toward a deer stand encountered a very tall bipedal silhouette about 45-50 feet away at a field edge. The figure turned and ran quietly into the treeline within about 10-15 seconds before a flashlight or shotgun could be used. The witness then went to the stand and called a parent about the sighting.

The witness's brother was sleeping in a tent in the yard and woke around 12:30 a.m. feeling uneasy after hearing something outside. He looked around the tent, saw nothing, and went inside the house to sleep on the couch. The next morning very large footprints were found right outside the tent in wet sand and were photographed.

The witness was fishing at night in a park when he heard two large splashes in the river behind him followed by a loud awful scream. He then heard rustling like a scuffle in dry leaves and a deep purring or heavy breathing sound lasting about a minute before the source moved away. Frightened by sounds he did not recognize, he left the area and went home early.

The witness and companion were hiking in the Franklin Creek area when they found a large footprint by the creek about two miles from the parking lot. They had to leave to return before dark and heavy rain. The creek later flooded and washed the print away.

The witness was swimming and having lunch with a companion, a child, and a dog at a secluded river sandbar on a hot summer day. When the dog became agitated, she went to check near the parked truck and saw a tall thin dark figure moving through brush about 20 yards away. She was startled, told her companion it was a Sasquatch, and they left.

The witness was driving home late at night and stopped near cows along a treeline after noticing a pair of yellow eyes several feet above the cows' eye level. When the car door was opened the eyes shifted quickly sideways, and the witness left the area. Shortly after arriving home the witness walked back with a dog and flashlight; the dog growled at something unseen but nothing was seen.
