Three people exited a cave lead in the early morning and were gathering gear to hike to the car. A loud, powerful, unfamiliar call came from across the sink, described as starting like a deep growl and growing in volume and tone. The group was startled and frightened and quickly left for their vehicles.
Military man and wife experience loud howling and shaking of mobile home near the Ohoopee River
The witness and his wife were inside a mobile home when it began shaking violently while an extremely loud howl sounded for about ten seconds. The witness first thought it was an earthquake, then grabbed a handgun and went outside but saw nothing moving. The episode ended abruptly as his wife screamed in fear.

Three young Marines were sleeping at a creekside camp when one awoke to sounds of something large in the woods. All three then listened for an extended period as something heavy circled their camp across the creek with steady bipedal-sounding steps and breaking sticks while staying beyond the firelight. They built up the fire, stayed awake until dawn, then extinguished it and walked out, and afterward never stayed overnight there again.

Two hunters camping on a remote barrier island awoke in their tent at night to the sound of bipedal footsteps approaching. After silence, something struck their tent and they exited with lights to see a dark, man-sized figure running toward the marsh. They chased it to the marsh edge but could not catch it, and noted a musky odor. They later verified no other boats were present and concluded a person could not have been out in the freezing conditions.

While tracking a wounded buck down the mountain at dusk, the witness heard parallel movement with breaking limbs, rustling leaves, a grunt and a growl. The sounds mirrored the witness's own stops and starts and at times fell silent. The witness fled through a briar patch to a truck, heard grunting again behind, and never saw the source.

Early one morning while still dark, the witness and a companion walking to the bus stop noticed a dark cone-shaped mound under a street lamp about 300 feet away. The shape stood up and walked toward the end of the street, then turned, picked something from the ground, and entered a strip of woods. The witness estimated it was about seven feet tall, very thin with wide hips, long arms, and a pointed crest on its head.

During summer 1965 the witness was exploring woods near military housing when he found very large barefoot prints in red clay leading into the trees. While on a trail he heard heavy bipedal footsteps that appeared to follow him, stopping when he stopped and rushing toward him, causing him to flee to the housing area. He returned with a friend and both heard the same following footsteps rush toward them before fleeing, with the friend reporting an indistinct large movement in the brush.

On opening day of deer season in 1978 or 1979, the witness waited in a tree stand in darkness and dense fog near a lake. A loud screaming sound approached from uphill, passed beneath the stand with audible brush and leaf movement, and continued on. The witness could not see the source due to fog and darkness. A hunting companion in a different location also heard the sounds that morning.
