Large, black creature seen running across road on two legs
More than a dozen people who were driving down a road claimed to see a large black creature. The creature reportedly ran across the road on two legs and continued down through the mountains. The report was relayed by someone who was not among the witnesses.
Tracks near Sicamous, British Columbia (1974)
The witness and a companion were staying at a closed lakeside resort in winter to ski on the snow-covered beach. Shortly after setting out in the afternoon they found two sets of very large footprints in the snow running along the bay. They followed the tracks and found body-sized impressions where the makers appeared to have lain and moved limbs in the snow, then found a partly eaten fish near a dock. As dusk approached they left the area and saw nothing further that night.
Strange sounds heard at summer camp; animals reported missing
In summer 1973 the witness, then a child at a camp in Langley, joined a counselor and another child to search the back of the camp property for a neighbor's missing sheep. After finding bloody sheep fur on a barbed-wire fence, the group heard an extremely loud roar and fled in panic. The camp was then closed with officials blaming a loose bear. Years later the witness heard online Bigfoot scream recordings and felt they matched the sound exactly.
Possible sighting around 2:00AM near Courtenay
The witness arrived home late at night under bright moonlight and saw a large dark form standing in a ditch behind a telephone pole across the road, watching. The witness pointed it out to a parent, who glanced toward it and hurried the family inside. The form remained motionless during the several minutes observed, and a next-day check found only muddy water in the about 2-foot-deep ditch.
Possible approach to a camp outside Penticton
The mother, sleeping with family in a tent trailer at a campground, was awake during the night while something was outside. In the morning the family found a cooler that had been tucked under the trailer dragged out, crushed, with food missing. The mother said she had seen its shadow on the tent wall and insisted it was neither a bear nor a man, remaining upset for most of the day.
Witnesses hear, smell, and feel something large moving & walking right next to them
Late at night in heavy fog, the witness's wife went to the outhouse and encountered something very close that she heard moving and smelled strongly, then fled back inside. The witness went outside with a gun and flashlight but could see nothing in the fog, though he heard bipedal footsteps, noticed a strong odor, and heard a low screeching sound toward a relative's home. The next morning he found a barbed-wire fence broken down with nails pulled out but found no tracks or hair.
Possible stalking and rock throwing in the Fraser Valley
Three companions walking back from swimming along a forestry road felt watched and heard snapping branches and rustling paralleling their movement. When they shouted and threw rocks toward the roadside bushes, rocks were thrown back at them while growling sounds were heard and the accompanying dog barked. Frightened, they ran to a nearby activity centre and later told a parent, who suggested a bear.
Possible snow tracks found in Skagit Valley south of Hope (w/photos)
The witness reported finding very large footprint-like tracks in melting snow on a road south of Hope, B.C., with an unusually long stride. The snow had melted to gravel within the outlines, but the shape looked more like a footprint than a boot print. The witness returned home for a camera and yardstick to document track size and spacing and shared photos to ask whether they could be Bigfoot tracks.
