A witness camping with two relatives heard repeated whoop sounds and felt watched during an early-evening hike, then ran back to camp. Overnight the group heard heavy slow footsteps outside the tent, and around 4 a.m. noticed a strong foul dirty-animal odor. By morning the tent and tarp were found marked with a strong urine-like smell, and the tarp was left behind.
Night time calls and footprints witnessed by several people northeast of Colton off Highway 211
The witness was visiting a friend's house near Colton when strange birdlike noises were heard from the treeline overnight. Five other people joined the witness to listen and agreed the sounds were unfamiliar, and shining a light toward the closest sounds made them stop temporarily. The noises continued until shortly before dawn. In the morning, possible unfamiliar tracks and a trail of pushed-down grass with long strides were found in a field behind a stream.
Early morning vocalizations heard on three consecutive days
The witness reported hearing very loud whooping calls coming from the forested opposite ridge of the valley at dawn on three consecutive days in June 2004, with durations getting shorter each day. On the evening of the third day the witness heard a briefer, softer series of the same calls while outside with a friend. The sounds were described as unlike known local wildlife and were never heard again.

The witness and a companion were elk hunting near their vehicle about an hour after daylight when they heard repeated loud wailing screams tapering to moans from a canyon about 250-300 yards away. The calls occurred several times over about ten minutes and seemed to shift direction. There was no visual contact, and the sound frightened the witness.

The witness reported hearing very loud, long drawn-out howls over several months in summer and fall 2003. The sounds seemed to come from BLM land across the street from the witness's house in a pine forest area and did not match familiar local animals. The witness was walking alone on an old road at the edge of a meadow in the evening when a very loud, long-lasting bellowing-like sound came from woods across the meadow. The witness kept watching while cutting the walk short and returning to the vehicle. No other people, vehicles, or camps were seen in the area when leaving.

The witness was home alone in the evening when something struck the locked front door hard. She heard a low grunting or growling sound and then saw a pair of slanted eyes and a hairy head staring at her from a few feet away in the dark. She watched the motionless figure for an estimated ten minutes. Police arrived hours later on foot and found nothing.

The witness was driving slowly westbound on I-84 in fog and snow when they passed a large, dark, shaggy creature sitting or leaning against the guardrail beside the lane. The creature appeared to watch traffic pass, turning its head from side to side, with snow streaked on its long hair or fur-like coat. The witness saw no stalled vehicles or reason for a person to be in that isolated, steep, cold location and later wondered if it could have been Sasquatch.

Two companions got out of a car by woods to take a road sign when the reporter heard a low growl. Both then heard a loud unfamiliar shriek followed by something crashing through brush. They ran back to the car and left without seeing anything.

An investigator later reviewed photos of broken and twisted trees and received frozen scat and hair samples for examination.

On March 18, 2001, two brothers hiking near Table Rock Wilderness found large bare-foot-like prints in snow that were larger and deeper than their own boot prints. They photographed the prints with a dollar bill for scale and estimated a 4-foot stride. No animal was seen, and a search of other prints found no hair.

The relatives joined him to examine it closely and they found a coarse hair inside the print. They photographed and videotaped the print and kept the hair in a film container, but the hair was later lost while showing it to someone.
