He initially told others the pursuer was a bear but later concluded it had walked on two legs and was a bigfoot.

A law enforcement leader later described the tracks as shoe prints made before a light snowfall and suggested a mountain lion as a possible source of the noises, while noting fresh lion tracks and no cabin break-ins.
