The witness was walking alone in thick woods carrying a BB gun late in the morning. The witness noticed a brown-colored subject moving very fast at an angle across the view, first thinking it was a person on a dirt bike. The witness then realized there was no engine noise, only the sound of breaking sticks, and left the area quickly without telling anyone at the time.

In August 1981 the witness rode a motorcycle up forest roads to a high peak near the North Fork. Near the treeline he uncovered a large old barefoot-like track and later from the summit saw a head-and-shoulders shadow watching from the dark treeline. Around midnight during a meteor shower outing, the witness was alone in a clearing, felt watched, then heard nearby rustling and ran back to camp. Shortly after, the group noticed an extremely strong sulfurous musky odor coming from a stand of trees. They pursued stomping and thrashing sounds uphill but never saw the source, and the pursuers fled after the sound and smell abruptly stopped.

The witness was fishing alone at dusk near camp at Fleming Lake when repeated distant undulating wailing calls were heard from a valley to the north/northeast. The calls came in five or six bouts of five to six rising-falling segments each over about a minute and were estimated to originate one to two miles away. Two companions at camp did not hear the sounds, and nothing else unusual was noticed for the remainder of the trip.

While bicycle-camping overnight at Fort Ross, the witness and a companion were awakened around 1 a.m. by an extremely loud, prolonged scream very close to their tent. They stayed frozen in the tent listening for about an hour, and later heard a similar scream from farther away near the lower parking area. They did not see the source and did not look for tracks the next morning.

The witness was riding on a school bus at night after a game when they noticed a tall, hair-covered figure standing in a corn field near a scarecrow. The figure was watched for several seconds as the bus passed about 75 to 100 yards away. Other passengers did not see it and laughed when the witness called out.

While hunting deer alone in a frozen swamp area, the witness found large bare human-like footprints in light snow on an isolated patch of high ground and followed them briefly before returning to camp.
