The witness and his wife arrived at a vacation cabin in light drizzle and began unloading their vehicle. After a nearby dam-release siren sounded, the witness heard a deep growl that changed into a howl, then a high-pitched scream, then prolonged wooing sounds lasting about two minutes. His wife came outside during the wooing portion and also heard it.

The witness and several relatives were gathered on a house's back patio in the early morning when they heard seven or eight loud whooping calls from a creek bottom to the south, followed by the sound of a cow in distress from a pasture across the creek. After backing the truck up about 20 feet, they heard a second louder, deeper and more aggressive vocalization of the same type from a different direction, which the witness interpreted as coming from a second animal. They remained in the area for several hours, looked around with a light and lantern, and heard nothing further.

Three people camped on an island area at Keystone Lake and heard repeated grunting and howl-like vocalizations after midnight. After two people kayaked back to the cars and two returned, the two in kayaks had two very large rocks land in the water near them as they approached shore in darkness. One had earlier seen green eyeshine near the campsite on the first return. Finding no other people on the island, they packed up and left during the night.

The witness and two teenagers hiked in and made camp for the night. Starting about 2100 they heard repeated high-pitched whoops, first from the north and later from the south, continuing intermittently into the night. No animals, people, or tracks were seen during the stay or hike out.

Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.
