The witness followed the sounds uphill while staying in radio contact, hearing limb-cracks like footsteps and feeling disoriented. She photographed the rock outcropping where the sounds seemed to originate. Later after charging her phone at the cabin, she examined the photo and perceived a figure standing behind a tree looking toward her.

The witness was alone in a tent at camp while elk hunting and trying to sleep. He heard an unusually deep throat-clearing sound, then about 20 minutes later heard two rocks land near the tent with loud thuds. Shortly after, he heard drawn-out whoop-like calls coming from multiple directions around camp. He remained in the tent overnight and left after sunrise without checking for sign.

The next day after snowfall, the witness returned and found a fresh cow elk carcass with its chest torn open and large indistinct tracks with a long stride nearby.

He first assumed a bear but later doubted it because the steps sounded bipedal and he found no matching bear sound.

After one person in the party gave a whoop, they heard three loud roar-like vocalizations with pauses between them. They saw no source and left quickly, later noting the sounds resembled an Ohio howl recording and acknowledging a human trick was possible.

At night around the campfire they smelled a strong foul odor, the dogs barked toward the darkness, and loud guttural vocalizations came from just outside the firelight two or three times. A young boy resting in the upper bunk of a small cabin heard a strange animal-like call followed by footsteps and rustling outside. When he looked through the open shutter window he saw a dark, very hairy face with glowing eyes staring in, which fled when he screamed. The family later estimated anything peering into that high window from the sloped ground would have to be about seven to eight feet tall, but they found no trace the next day.

The witness and spouse were bow hunting in timber when something unseen followed them, starting and stopping as they moved. After the witness shot a deer, the follower vocalized loudly and thrashed brush and trees while pursuing them downhill. The pair abandoned the deer and left the timber, with the follower continuing to vocalize behind them to the timber edge.
