The witness and companions were camping by a river when the witness heard groaning and splashing in the water around 2-3 a.m. The witness shouted, thinking it was a companion playing around, and the source of the noise left. At sunrise the group found very large footprints leading from the water into the trees.

The witness was smoking in his garage at night when he felt a strong sense of being watched and became fearful and went inside. Shortly after he and his wife were in bed, they heard strange evolving vocalizations from the woods behind the house through an open window, including babbling, crying-like sounds and loud screaming lasting about three minutes. A neighbor's flashlight appeared during the screaming, after which the couple closed the window and the sounds stopped.

Shortly after the coyotes stopped, a loud wailing sound began coming from nearby woods and continued until about 5:30 AM. On the night of October 28, 2000 the witness was hosting an adult-only backyard barbecue party with about a dozen guests. Around 10 p.m. the group heard loud unidentified sounds from the woods near the back of the property and heard heavy footsteps breaking branches that sounded bipedal. The witness and her husband were camping in a dispersed site when they heard a prolonged strange vocalization that moved along a rocky creek bed from one side of camp to the other over several hours. Their dogs acted frightened, trying to get into the tent rather than barking. The witness compared the sound to a recorded scream from a nearby county and could not identify it as a known animal.
