Late at night the witness was outside with dogs and scanned with a spotlight toward a soybean field clearing about 300 feet away. The light revealed two sets of reflective eyes estimated to be about seven feet high that moved behind a bush and repeatedly peeked out. After watching them disappear and reappear, the witness went inside for about twenty minutes and returned to find the area empty.

Two companions scouting a conservation area spotted a large dark bipedal figure about 150 to 200 yards away on a trail. The figure crouched, swayed, then moved quickly to the right and disappeared. The men went to the spot and found a very large fresh footprint and freshly broken small trees.

The witness was driving south late at night when an upright dark figure came off a wooded hillside and crossed the road in front of the vehicle. The figure crossed from west to east about 30 feet ahead and continued up the opposite hill within about three to four seconds. The witness described it as roughly seven to eight feet tall with a stocky build.

The witness was driving west on Highway 54 toward the Kansas state line in early-morning darkness on the way to work. In the headlights a very large, very dark, stocky upright figure was seen on the left side of the road, visible from the knees up with very black hair that shone in the lights. They shone flashlights across the river and saw an upright human-like creature bring down a dead tree into the river and move in the water. The boys fled to their cabin, and a tree not present the day before was seen in the river the next morning.

From bed she saw a large dark hairy figure standing off the porch and looking in the window for an extended stare. Around 1991 or 1992, the witness was driving home alone about 1 a.m. when an animal on all fours ran across the road and she braked to barely miss it. In a few seconds she noted its body was level rather than sloped, its legs were distinct without belly skin, and its lighter-colored hairless-looking face without a snout turned sideways to look at her. She heard nothing because the radio was on, and found no sign at the site the next day.

When the witness was 11, a very tall hair-covered creature stood outside the house window for a few minutes late at night before walking around the side of the house. The next day the witness and a sibling found large footprints around the house and estimated the creature's height from the window measurement. Rain later washed the prints away after they were followed into the woods.

Two brothers riding an ATV on their wooded property in winter saw a large dark creature moving through pine trees about 75 yards away. The witness described it as at least 6 to 7 feet tall, stocky, with dark brown medium-length hair, but could not discern facial features. Frightened, they fled back to the house without returning to check for tracks.

In 1980 the witness was driving with a relative in the early morning to catch a bus for a trip when a brown, hairy form crossed their path near a small wooden bridge over a creek. The witness reported seeing only from the foot to the ankle in dim car lights while the companion reported seeing up to the knee, and the form crossed in about three strides. Both occupants were awestruck and left quickly without further observation.
