Two companions walking on a Lake Superior beach at dusk with a dog approached a large driftwood pile when the dog reacted and stopped. They saw a large dark upright silhouette on the far side of the pile that bent down, gripped a log as if to climb over, then ducked out of view when a flashlight was aimed at it. The head was seen popping up briefly before they retreated to the parking lot.

The witness and companions were calling coyotes at the edge of a field at night when they noticed yellowish eyeshine behind a tree. Late at night the witness was returning from taking trash to the dumpster when he saw a tall brownish upright figure moving away from his open garage toward his camper. He lit its upper body with a flashlight and watched it glide silently behind the camper and then into the thick woods without a sound. He retrieved a rifle and searched the woods but found the terrain difficult to cross and found no tracks. A neighbor suggested a bear on its hind legs, but the witness felt the thin human-like form and silent movement did not fit.

The witness and two relatives were night fishing from a boat in a remote cove. Something in the woods threw large rocks into the water near and over the boat. They shined a light, heard fast movement in brush, and glimpsed a large dark shape going over a dune before leaving quickly.

Two people walking toward Miner's Falls heard repeated wood-on-wood banging for about a minute. They saw a large limb held straight out and striking back and forth between two close-set trees about 20 feet away. One witness glimpsed a dark unidentified shape believed to be part of a dark arm that seemed to rise from leaning over before the noise stopped and moved away behind the trees.

The witness was riding with companions on dirt roads near recently burned woods when she and the driver saw a white upright figure cross the road ahead. They first assumed it was a person, but saw no car and found no footprints when they returned to the spot. After driving around the area, the witness felt she had seen something different.

The driver was turning left when deer ran across the road and the passenger shouted about something to the west. The driver only glimpsed a large dark upright shape already entering the tree line. The witness was mountain biking on a game trail in thick forest when he stopped in a clear-cut opening to repair a flat front tire. A loud thump came from a burnt-out RV about 50-60 yards away, and he saw a large jet-black furred head appear in a broken window about six feet off the ground. The head tilted slowly to the side as he remounted his bike, and he rode back to his cabin using GPS. He reported smelling a pungent odor at the site and again outside his cabin the next morning, which he interpreted as the animal having followed him.
