In fall 1986 at dusk the witness was driving up a mountain dirt road when he passed a tall, hairy upright figure standing beside a large tree. The figure turned its head to watch the vehicle go by but was gone when the witness turned around and drove back minutes later. The next morning the same tree was found fallen across the road and was being cut up, destroying any possible tracks.

After hearing limbs breaking, he saw a tall hairy figure standing under a pine tree about 70 yards away, apparently shaking the tree and then stepping behind nearby trees where it disappeared from view. He reported feeling intense dread and chose not to approach to look for tracks, ending his hunting afterward.

Two people riding in a jeep to stock pig feeders and gather firewood noticed a very tall, dark-furred figure with no visible neck standing between two isolated pines about a hundred yards away. When the witness glanced down and looked back a moment later the figure was gone, leaving both people badly frightened.

Three teenagers staying overnight at a wilderness cabin woke after 1 a.m. to see a head and broad shoulders silhouetted in a moonlit upstairs window, with lightly glowing orange-red eyes peering inside. The closest teen moved away, the figure dropped from view, and the group shut the shade and remained shaken. The family dog was unusually spooked and refused walks the next day.

As the sounds drew closer, one member of the party saw a dark brown flash of fur in the trees but could not identify it. The group then drove out of the area and did not return to hunt.

The witness and two companions were camped by a remote lake after dusk when they noticed amber eyes in the woods up the hill. After rocks were thrown, the animal stood and moved toward them on two legs, then circled their camp for about three hours while staying outside the firelight. The witness described it as 7 to 8 feet tall, agile on two legs, and curious rather than aggressive, and it left after fuel thrown on the fire made a flare. No tracks or other sign were found the next morning.

The shape reached up, carried one bag into the woods where tearing and eating sounds were heard, then returned about half an hour later to take a second bag. The pair remained in the truck, then packed up and left to spend the rest of the night elsewhere.

They made eye contact, the creature turned its head and torso showing long arm hair, then walked quickly away. The witness left the area and told no one for a couple days.

The witness was deer hunting from a ridge overlooking a cedar swamp when he noticed a black head repeatedly appearing above 6-7 foot tall cedars at a distance. The head was visible intermittently for 10 to 15 minutes, moving as if foraging, while the surrounding woods were unusually quiet. He first thought it was a bear but concluded it was something else because of its height, head shape and sustained upright posture, leaving when it grew dark.

In 1982 three companions were fishing along a river when they noticed an absence of birds and wildlife and a feeling of being watched. They then observed a figure watching them from a wooded ridge 50 to 75 yards away for about 45 minutes.
