The witness reports hearing prolonged howls from the forested area behind the home during the early morning hours, believing there were two sources at different distances. When the witness shone a flashlight toward the tree line the nearer howling stopped while the farther howling continued, followed by two metallic taps on a nearby wire fence line. Two neighbors later said they also heard the sounds. No visual observation is reported.

From across the water the witness noticed a dark shape first taken for a stump, then saw it move while soaking in the water. The companions were shaken for hours but later denied the incident, and the witness remains uncertain whether it was a costumed person or a real creature.
