Late at night at home, the witness heard an odd noise and noticed a strong foul odor filling the house while the indoor dog reacted aggressively at the back door and door area. After his wife returned home, he opened the back door and both heard two loud, unfamiliar screams from the northwest about 100-150 yards away. No intruder or tracks were found, and dogs in the area remained agitated for several days.

The witness was working overnight security at a remote strip mine and was resting in the guard shack during heavy rain. He heard crunching beside the shack, saw a shadow move toward the door, and something pulled on the door. After he shouted, he heard a terrifying screaming howl and the pulling intensified, so he heated a poker as a threat until it went quiet, then ran to his car where he remained the rest of the night.

The witness joined a small group for an overnight camp to practice outdoor skills. In the evening the witness walked east of camp, noticed a strong foul smell and heard vegetation breaking nearby before running back to the group. Overnight the campers were awakened by sounds around the camp followed by a loud crash, and by morning the food hung high above ground was gone, the supporting limb was damaged, and a foul smell lingered. The group then packed and left the area.

The witness was camping overnight with friends in the Mount Baker National Forest near the river. Between 2 and 3 a.m. she heard movement approach her tent and brush against it, while a companion in a truck reportedly felt a nudge and saw a fleeting shadow. The next morning the witness found multiple large footprints around her tent, the trail and vehicles and made a plaster cast of the clearest one. While waiting alone in camp later that day she heard persistent clicking from the woods and felt watched.

The witness and a companion were resupplying a bear bait site on foot when they heard branches breaking upslope and saw a piece of tree fall. About 400 yards away on a ledge they saw a tall dark bipedal figure leaning against a broken tree. The witness watched it for 15-20 seconds before it stepped quickly into the treeline, and noticed a rancid odor near the bait site.

In October 2004 the witness was bow hunting from a stand when gibberish-like vocal sounds and running were heard in the pines. A doe ran in front of the stand staring north, then a short huh sound, silence, deep sniffing and slow deliberate movement with snapping twigs circled to the northeast and east as the doe fled. The source was never seen.

They then heard a very loud vocalization described as starting as a growl and turning into a scream nearby. The woods remained silent until late morning, after which they left the area.

The witness camped overnight in the cab of his truck before deer hunting season. Around 4 a.m. he got outside and heard deep breathing nearby, then after getting back in the truck heard a high-pitched warbling yodel from the direction of the mountain. He saw nothing with a flashlight and stayed awake in the truck until dawn.

The witness was riding an ATV with her husband on a forest road and stopped alone to wait for him. She reported a very strong foul odor, a feeling of being watched, and hearing a branch break. When she started to leave she noticed very large footprints over their fresh outgoing tracks. Her husband saw the prints but attributed their size to dust and reported only a faint dead smell.

In late summer 2002 the witness was walking alone on a logged ridge in the early evening and heard a tree fall nearby. Shortly after, the witness saw a very large brown figure lope between trees on the ridge, perceiving only an arm and leg and no head. Days later the witness returned and judged from the tree positions that the figure would have been seven to eight feet tall if human.

The witness was hunting arrowheads along a lake/river shoreline on a very hot late afternoon. From across the water the witness noticed a dark shape first taken for a stump, then saw it move while soaking in the water. After the witness climbed onto a dam, the figure apparently noticed the witness, stood up and walked to shore, and was gone by the time the witness finished crossing.

The witness was sitting by a campfire outside the family motorhome with two dogs while her husband was inside with the children. She heard repeated huge splashes in the nearby lake that sounded like large boulders being thrown far out into the water, and the dogs became frightened. She discovered her husband had been inside asleep and had not caused the sounds, and he then also heard splashes while inside. A check outside with a flashlight revealed nothing further.

Two companions were hunting deer on a family property near Pine Mountain when they found a footprint and other tracks near a pine overhang, noticed a localized strong skunk-like odor, and saw a pile of fresh acorns with no oak nearby. As they moved uphill using alternating advances, each heard an unrecognized whistle and the sound of a large boulder rolling, with neither attributing the sounds to the other. Both reported a feeling of being followed uphill.

After feeling watched and returning to camp, the group heard repetitive clinking/banging sounds that seemed to answer from different directions for about twenty minutes. The witness and his wife sat on his truck tailgate at a power-line clearing late at night when they heard snorting, brush breaking, and a loud growl/grunt moving up a steep hill toward them. The witness saw a large shadow moving on the slope in moonlight, heard breathing and stomping, and smelled a musky sour odor. After revving the truck engine the sounds crashed rapidly downhill, and the pair left, seeing deer run across the road as they drove out.
Possible sighting near Sullivan Lake
Two companions were camping overnight on a fishing trip near Sullivan Lake when they were awakened by a distant crash and a musty odor. A second, louder crash close to camp was followed by a grunt, and the narrator saw a tall gray-furred shape through the tent mesh that fled when lit by a flashlight. Both spent the rest of the night in the truck and left the area the next day.
Possible tracks observed on a frozen lake near Invemere
Two people walking across a frozen lake found a trackway of very large five-toed footprints and followed it for several hundred yards toward the opposite shore. The prints were described as 14-16 inches long with a bridge-like ridge and spaced 5-7 feet apart. While in the area they also heard intermittent small thudding sounds in short bursts.

On the third night of an expedition, the witness waited alone in an elevated platform near a creek during a broadcast stakeout. Starting around 11:30 PM, he heard slow heavy footsteps pacing back and forth nearby for about two hours without ever seeing the source. After radio contact with the approaching team, he heard a loud plopping sound followed by rapid bipedal splashes moving up the rocky creek bed. A later daylight check found a boulder-covered creek with no tracks.
