They also reported white eyeshine, a pungent odor, a dark figure seen in the treeline after daylight, and footprints and torn branches found in the morning.

Four men riding 4-wheelers in thick forest saw a black bear on an opposite hillside and rode toward it, but the bear disappeared into deep woods. Stopped at the hilltop, they noticed four large human-like footprints in fresh mud heading up the trail in a different direction from the bear. The prints were described as very large with a big toe and a few smaller toes and a long stride. Hunters in the group said the prints looked like Bigfoot prints and differed from bear tracks.

They found a line of barefoot-like prints with distinct toes crossing the ice for about twenty feet and continuing up a steep bank. No other prints were present, and the witness judged a human origin unlikely because of the remote location and freezing weather.
