Around midnight the witness was with two friends in a small forest near the house when they heard a large branch snap. The witness saw a tall outline about 15 to 20 feet away leaning with one arm against a tree and staring, then it turned and walked toward the road while the witness ran. Companions did not see the figure, and the next day the witness found fresh paths and broken and uprooted trees in the area.
Strange, tall creature seen crossing the road at Kennedy Lake
The witness and a relative were stranded after a vehicle breakdown and were flagging traffic with flashlights. About an hour after dark they saw the silhouette of a tall, very skinny biped cross the road about 30-40 feet away toward the lake. It walked upright with a slow, smooth gait and large steps, described as kid-like, smaller than a standing bear, with long arms and a humpbacked appearance.
Possible approach to a camp outside Penticton
The mother, sleeping with family in a tent trailer at a campground, was awake during the night while something was outside. In the morning the family found a cooler that had been tucked under the trailer dragged out, crushed, with food missing. The mother said she had seen its shadow on the tent wall and insisted it was neither a bear nor a man, remaining upset for most of the day.
