Campers on Mount Graham experience possible intimidation behavior
The witness family was tent-camping at a site on Mt [name withheld]. Between 1 and 4 a.m., after the husband re-entered the tent, the witness and her daughter saw a tall thin figure walk quickly past the tent in the dark and heard slipper-like footsteps on the road. The witness later heard loud chewing and lip-smacking behind the tent and noticed an unfamiliar animal smell. The sounds lasted about 20 minutes and stopped without footsteps after a distant camper door was heard.

The witness was staying alone in a trailer and went uphill to check what triggered a house motion light. He reports seeing a giant upright human-like silhouette near the house that made a loud howl/scream/growl directed at him before turning toward the forest. He ran back to his trailer and found no clear footprints the next morning due to dry ground.

In 1981, while driving home from a deer-hunting trip on a road north of Globe, the witness rounded a corner and saw a dark figure standing about 10 yards off the roadside with bright red eyeshine. Startled and concerned about a companion in the vehicle and a deer carcass needing attention, the witness chose not to stop or back up and left the area quickly. The sighting occurred after dark and was recalled years later after reading other reports.
