A large black figure appeared about 1000 feet away, stood motionless for one to several hours scanning the valley, then took a large step off the road down a steep slope. The witness walked to the spot, found no tracks in the snow, concluded it was not a man, and left the area.

They shouted at the figures, another rock was thrown near them downstream, and they fled on foot to their vehicle.

In August 1981 the witness rode a motorcycle up forest roads to a high peak near the North Fork. Near the treeline he uncovered a large old barefoot-like track and later from the summit saw a head-and-shoulders shadow watching from the dark treeline. The shape was gone when he looked back after viewing the panorama, and he rode quickly back down the mountain.

After dark, two riders on horseback were traveling on a back trail from the fairgrounds toward a friend's house. One horse alerted to something ahead, and the riders observed a very large, silent, human-like silhouette that moved diagonally into the brush. One rider greeted it, initially thinking it was a person, and they continued to the house without discussing it until morning. The next day they returned and found flattened dry grass where it had stood.

Six teenagers were camped by a creek for overnight fishing and sat around a bonfire late in the evening. They heard footsteps approaching along the creek bed, noticed a strong unpleasant odor, and watched a very tall two-legged shadow circle their camp at a distance before continuing along the creek. They remained silent during the passing and did not search for tracks the next morning.

The witness saw a large silhouette move past a tree toward the river, heard splashing and screaming, then footsteps approach the tent and run away. They waited for daylight and left quickly.

The witness then saw a large shadow fill the back-door window and then the living-room windows before moving away. A faint skunk-like odor was also noticed. Four college geology students camping at night heard howling from a canyon and then saw the outline of a huge bipedal animal on the road in moon and campfire light. When the animal approached, one student fired a rifle several times, after which it crossed the road and moved noisily up the opposite slope through brush. A responding deputy examined the area the next day and reported indistinct impressions, small pushed-over trees and long uphill strides, but no blood or fur.

A tall silhouette about 75 feet away rose above the corn and stared at the witness for about 30 seconds before the witness ran inside and locked the doors. The next day the witness found scuff marks, a path through the corn, and stalks with missing corn but no clear prints.

After two young companions reported seeing a large white-covered creature at the woods edge, the witness retrieved a spotlight and went with them toward the woods behind the apartments. From about fifty feet away the light revealed glowing red eyes and a large two-legged silhouette standing behind trees. The group fled to tell parents, who did not believe them.

By morning two pet rabbits kept outside were gone, with no damage to the cage.

A teacher and companions are said to have encountered a tall creature on at least six occasions near an old bridge in Cooke County, Texas. The encounters occurred at night from a vehicle, with the figure seen as a tall silhouette in headlights and heard making threatening noises while moving through brush. On one occasion the creature was described as bouncing a limb, whose height was measured the next day, and daytime searches reportedly found bones in the creek. Shots were allegedly fired at the creature without apparent effect.
