Two brothers camped overnight beside a lake in the park. During the night and again after dawn they repeatedly heard a loud aggressive exhale-like sound nearby, along with footsteps and branches breaking as something moved through the forest, followed by scream-like sounds that turned into chatter. In daylight they found a matted vegetation bed, a fresh flattened trail, and footprints in mud where the sounds had come from. The entity itself was never seen.

The witness was sleeping outside on the fringe of a large group camp in a remote pine forest when awakened around 1:30 a.m. by a loud, unfamiliar scream and sounds of a large animal moving through brush within about 20 yards. Too frightened to look, the witness hid in a sleeping bag. A similar scream was heard again one to two hours later farther off, and other campers also reported hearing the wails.

The witness was bowhunting from a climbing tree stand at dusk when he heard extremely loud screams and heavy footsteps moving around his stand within 50 yards. At the road his hunting companion was waiting on top of the vehicle, having also heard the vocalizations.

They took a light and tools and went a short way into the woods, where the sound became a loud high-pitched whistling with heavy rapid breathing very close beside them. Unable to see the source and unnerved, they retreated, called police, and listened as the screams moved away to the southeast and faded.
