The witness and a companion were anchored and sleeping aboard their boat. After stargazing they went to bed in the cabin and heard a loud disturbing scream that startled their dog, causing them to miss any further sounds. Years later the witness compared the memory to a recording of the Michigan Scream and the companion agreed it matched.

Late at night the witness was awakened at home by an unfamiliar high-pitched, two-toned scream repeated with pauses. She listened from an open window and woke her son, who also listened and said he had never heard such a sound. Four people were walking back to their vehicle from an undeveloped hot spring late at night when something kept pace with them in dense brush. After a comment that it was probably a bear, a very loud wail came from the brush, followed by something running downhill on two legs. The group fled to the vehicle and agreed they had heard a sasquatch. The witness returned the next day and found large human-like tracks in mud.
