The witness and two companions stopped at a creek bridge to get water for an overheating vehicle. While attempting to collect water with a cup on a string, they heard movement on the steep hillside and had small stones and then a large rock thrown toward them from uphill. They left quickly without seeing what threw the rocks.

Moments later a baseball-sized rock landed where the witness had just been standing, with no visible source. The pair then heard loud wood-on-wood impacts first ahead on the hill and then behind them, which they could not explain. They reported no sighting, odor, or footprints, and nearby hikers with dogs showed no unusual reaction.

Around midnight something large crashed through brush, rocks were thrown into camp, and loud screaming and growling occurred. The pair fled in their truck, leaving gear behind, and returned briefly at midday the next day to retrieve it.

A group of teens and adult instructors were setting up camp on a ridge at dusk when bowling-ball-sized rocks began flying into the teens' camp from an unseen source. After initially suspecting a companion who had stepped away, the group experienced another rock fall after his return and fled to the instructors' camp, where another rock fell while they were explaining. The group sat back-to-back through the night and left the next day without discussing it.
