The witness was walking in a power line cut in the early afternoon when loud wood-on-wood knocks were heard from both sides of the clearing, seeming to answer each other. The witness also found a large grassy bedding depression with a very strong unfamiliar odor nearby. No other witnesses were present.

He reports hearing two loud deep ape-like whoops followed by stick-against-tree impacts about 100 yards away and then again farther toward the river. They later staked out the area, heard weird noises, and smelled a foul odor. The next morning they found human-like footprints sized to the witness's foot and groups of bent and broken trees.

A driver stopped to help two motorists whose car had left the road after swerving to avoid a large hairy creature chasing a deer across the road. While fetching a rope from his truck to pull their car out, he walked directly into the creature standing behind his truck. He noted a foul smell, red eyes, and a low growl before it walked to the woods edge and then into the woods. He then helped move the car and continued his trip, shaken by the encounter.

The witness was spending the weekend at a friend's house when the group heard loud high- and low-pitched screaming on a summer Saturday night. Three of them walked toward a field near a river with a flashlight and saw red eyes in the brush while hearing limbs breaking, then ran back to the house. Screaming reportedly continued for hours, and the next midday they found a snapped vine, bark torn high on a tree, disturbed ground, and a partial large heel print.
