The witness arrived before daylight to deer hunt from a ground blind near a road above a steep slope. From inside the blind he heard coyotes, then hollering, rock-banging or wood-knock sounds, and whoops as something ran up the slope, crossed the road, and stopped in thick brush behind him. He then heard loud raspy breathing and growling and smelled a strong obnoxious odor for about five minutes before the animal ran away along the treeline and the woods went quiet.

A couple parked at the end of their long driveway for a late-night walk to scout stargazing spots. Halfway up they felt watched and heard something loud running toward them through the woods. One witness fled to the car while the other stayed with a flashlight, smelling a strong foul odor and hearing repeated charges that stopped and started. The witness was gathering firewood behind the house at night when whooping sounds were heard coming from dark woods about 100 yards away. Horses were heard bolting nearby and the witness's dog barked toward the woods while a faint zoo-like odor was smelled. The event lasted about one to two minutes and the witness felt watched without ever seeing the source.

The next morning her daughter visited, heard the account, and found a large flat human-like footprint in mud outside the window, which she measured and photographed, plus reddish hair strands on a nearby tree.

As a child the witness walked upstream out of sight of relatives while fishing. He heard deep grunting sounds and saw thin trees shaking as something unseen moved through dense brush behind him. When he walked back, the movement and branch-breaking sounds followed him step for step and stopped when he reached his relatives. He never saw the source of the sounds and movement.

The witness was sitting in a deer stand on hunting land when dogs ran through the woods and rolled in dirt at a fence corner. After getting down to chase the dogs off, the witness smelled a musky sour odor like a dead animal. A deep long growl then came from the woods across the powerline about 50 yards away, prompting the witness to back away and run to the truck.
