While on a camping trip, the witness hiked off trail at night to set snares for food. He heard rustling and sounds of bipedal footsteps paralleling him and reported seeing a tall shadow behind a tree that vanished under direct light. A large branch landed near him, prompting him to fire a flare gun as a warning, after which something large crashed away through brush sounding like a heavy person running with long strides. He returned to find his companions asleep and did not report the incident until later.

On the ninth night of solo primitive camping, the witness was lying awake in a tent when a very loud thud sounded in front of the tent. The witness retreated to the car, repositioned it, and tried for about an hour to elicit further response, later hearing a growl and movement alongside and then away.

The witness was smoking on the front porch at night when rustling was heard nearby. A dark massive upright figure stood up about 30 yards away, looked both ways, then ran across the street into a wooded area. The companion separately reported hearing loud walking in camp that night, and no tracks or disturbance were found in the morning.

The witness and two companions entered the woods after dark to recover a deer shot earlier from a tree stand. While preparing to photograph the deer, the group heard an extremely loud scream from very close range, followed by the sound of something large crashing away through the woods toward a swamp. They saw nothing when they shone lights into the woods and quickly left with the deer without field-dressing it.

A witness and a relative were carrying camping gear to canoes in the afternoon when they heard an extremely loud bellow followed by muffled talking-like sounds. The witness retrieved a shotgun and moved toward a river point while the relative watched from the canoes. The witness heard heavy footsteps and brush movement heading toward the rapids but saw nothing, and found dry crossing rocks with no splashing. He concluded whatever made the sounds must have leapt rock to rock to cross.

Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.

The witness returned to a familiar lakeshore fishing spot with a relative after two prior visits with unexplained sounds. Something in the trees paced him from the side, stopping when he stopped and continuing when he walked. When he tried to look larger and shouted, he heard deep grunts and saw two small trees shake vigorously. He called a nearby friend for a ride and kept shouting until he was picked up.

Two companions were night fishing at a reservoir when they heard tree knocks and unfamiliar calls that seemed to get closer. They decided to leave and found one of two large catfish missing from the back of the truck, then the companion was struck in the chest by a small thrown rock. Frightened, they packed up and left quickly.

The witness was walking along a creek bed in heavily wooded terrain when they found a very large footprint with five distinct toes. After photographing it with makeshift scale items, they heard movement and a large branch being twisted on the hillside and left the woods. An investigator later visited the site with the witness and summarized the track as a 17-inch-long left-foot impression.
Reoccurring activity on a farm near Fife Lake
Around 3:30 a.m. on a warm night in late summer 2011, the witness ran outside with a rifle and flashlight after hearing a chicken squawking. About 100 feet away behind the garage, the witness saw huge orange eyes staring from above a chicken coop and estimated the figure at 6 to 7 feet tall. After briefly looking down to ready the rifle, the figure was gone, and the witness heard something crashing fast through brush to the southwest with heavy breathing. A chicken was found alive but missing rear feathers with a pile of feathers nearby and no digging.
