The witness was leading an overnight camping trip and sitting around a campfire with customers around 11 pm. Just after finishing a story about a previous loud scream heard at the same location, the group heard a loud howl or scream nearby. The customers suspected a prank, but the witness became convinced the sound was a Bigfoot and later asked not to be sent on further trips.

Three campers were around a late-night campfire when they heard repeated series of deep two-tone howls from hills to the north and south and a loud tree-impact sound. One source of howls moved from about 100 yards west to about 50 yards in the treeline, appearing to exchange calls with a distant source while crashing through brush toward camp. Alarmed, the group packed under guard and drove out, hearing the howls again from about a mile behind them. They later interpreted the incident as possibly involving three large communicating beings.

In response they heard loud, prolonged howling and whining vocalizations from multiple animals on the opposite ridge, repeated over about 10-15 minutes. They also heard splashing and saw ripples on a pond but saw no animals, then left quickly for their vehicle.

They left without seeing the source, and minutes later a ranger they met said she had also heard the unfamiliar sound.

As the sounds drew closer, one member of the party saw a dark brown flash of fur in the trees but could not identify it. The group then drove out of the area and did not return to hunt.

The witness and spouse were bow hunting in timber when something unseen followed them, starting and stopping as they moved. After the witness shot a deer, the follower vocalized loudly and thrashed brush and trees while pursuing them downhill. The pair abandoned the deer and left the timber, with the follower continuing to vocalize behind them to the timber edge.
