Man living off grid hears strange occurrences including knocks and whoops at Goose Creek Lake
The witness was lying in bed in an off-grid camper when surrounding animal sounds went silent. Over about an hour the witness heard a single knock, shed creaking as if pushed, rustling and footsteps on gravel, a possible growl and chewing, and a single whoop with no reply. The next day the witness found a large footprint in the gravel near where the sounds originated and photographed it with a tape measure.

Shaken, she returned toward two fishermen and then left across the dam, photographing a large print in the mud. From the car area she heard the same loud vocalization coming from across the lake where she had been and saw the fishermen hurrying across the dam, after which all parties left.

The couple were night fishing from boat docks around midnight when rocks began splashing into the water on both sides of the cove. Two unseen sources on opposite banks threw large rocks and produced deep growls, screams, and howls in unison for an extended period while the couple remained on the dock. They eventually left the dock for their cabin and continued to hear the sounds from the overlook.

They quickly lit a campfire and remained at the site for four nights total. They later asked rangers about the sound and checked local animal sounds at home without finding a match.

The witness was camping alone in a tall tent when something large approached at night. A tall shadow with broad shoulders was cast on the tent by an outside lantern. The visitor opened food containers, ate bread, growled, overturned a cooler and carried off meat before leaving toward the river where vocalizations were heard. Large footprints and teeth marks were found the following morning.

The witness and two companions snuck out on a 4-wheeler into woods behind a house on a snowy night. They noticed a dead-like odor and heard monkey-like chattering, then saw a tall hair-covered biped walk toward them while growling. The group fled on the vehicle and on foot as the animal followed to within arm's reach without touching them, apparently driving them from the area.
