Three people with a dog were hunting raccoons at night along a deer trail when they noticed something following them. They used a spotlight to watch a large dark standing figure about 50 yards away with reddish eyes on multiple occasions over 15-20 minutes while hearing strange grunting. The dog stayed close and shook, and the group returned to the truck and left because they were scared.

Three hunters were sitting on a peninsula at dawn when they heard an extremely loud roar-moan from across a bay that lasted several seconds and ended in a low growl. An air horn had no effect, but setting off the truck panic alarm with lights and horn stopped the shaking. About five minutes later a very loud howl-growl-scream came from behind the trailer. The next day the witness and a companion could not replicate the movement by pushing the trailer.

The witness and a companion walked in on a gated logging road for an evening elk hunt and heard something pacing them in the woods. After they stopped at the end of a side road, the witness heard a deep low growl from nearby brush without seeing the source. After waiting until dark for two companions, the pair walked out back-to-back while loud walking and brush sounds paced them for about a half mile to the truck.

The witness was sitting on the front porch late at night when he heard a loud scream at a distance, followed later by crashing brush and a series of loud moans, growls and howls from across the road. He judged the vocalizations as extremely powerful and unlike any known animal and inferred the source was very large. He went inside and locked the doors.

In February 2009 after snow, the witness was hiking back toward the truck in Shades State Park with a child while periodically making tree knocks. After one set of knocks the witness heard an immediate very loud and powerful growl. The witness then hurried the child to the truck.

Late at night the witness walked home alone along a familiar wooded trail and heard something moving parallel in the brush, breathing heavily. When the witness stopped the sounds stopped, and when walking resumed the follower kept pace. The witness ran toward home and the follower pursued onto gravel and pavement on two feet while making low growls and calls and trying to cut the witness off. At the house the witness's dog confronted the unseen pursuer, which halted very close before withdrawing into the brush.

Three people camped on an island area at Keystone Lake and heard repeated grunting and howl-like vocalizations after midnight. After two people kayaked back to the cars and two returned, the two in kayaks had two very large rocks land in the water near them as they approached shore in darkness. One had earlier seen green eyeshine near the campsite on the first return. Finding no other people on the island, they packed up and left during the night.

The witness was sitting with two companions around a fire behind the house near a wooded swamp late at night. They repeatedly heard a long whoop-like growling sound from the woods but saw nothing. The first occurrence was in late summer 2008, and similar sounds were heard again in March 2009.

After the eyes disappeared, they heard a very loud, deep growl from directly behind them. They fled to their truck, honked and lit the area, then quickly recovered their gear and left.

The witness walked to and waited at a bus stop around 6:15 when loud howling, screams and growls were heard repeatedly over several minutes from a large wooded area about 100 meters away. Neighborhood dogs reacted strongly and some ran into the woods where rustling was heard. The witness was frightened by the sounds and then boarded the bus.

The witness walked to a railroad crossing late at night and heard loud screams and thrashing in nearby woods. Rocks landed around the witness, including one larger rock seen coming through the trees, and the witness threw a rock back before leaving. Screaming was heard continuing up the mountain as the witness returned to the main road. Broken trees were also noticed near the site.

Late at night the witness took a dog outside and heard movement in the densely wooded backyard. The witness then heard a deep growl followed by a loud progressive scream that seemed non-human and kept hearing vocalizations after going back inside. The next morning the witness found disturbed underbrush and broken branches but no footprints.
