From the deck the witness heard something large moving through brush and keeping pace with them, then heard a loud crack, a large splash, wading steps, and a rock thrown across the river. The witness heard water dripping and shaking off fur and a strange snort before the animal moved away through underbrush. The next morning a previously intact rotten stump across the river was found split with half lying at the river's edge.

The eyes retreated deeper, dropped low and disappeared while the group returned to the cottage.

It screamed, stomped hard enough to shake the ground, snapped limbs, and grunted and growled before leaving quickly. The pair then left the area immediately.
