Four college geology students camping at night heard howling from a canyon and then saw the outline of a huge bipedal animal on the road in moon and campfire light. When the animal approached, one student fired a rifle several times, after which it crossed the road and moved noisily up the opposite slope through brush. A responding deputy examined the area the next day and reported indistinct impressions, small pushed-over trees and long uphill strides, but no blood or fur.

Four deer hunters stopped at a relative's ranch for lunch and fed hogs when horses in a back pasture became highly agitated for about 30 minutes. They found very large, deep tracks circling the pasture with a strong wet-dog and rotten-egg odor still present. They followed the bipedal trackway to a very steep hill where the steps ascended out of reach, tried and failed to replicate the stride and step-up, then left without ever seeing the maker.

The witness was driving to work on a county road when he noticed a large dark figure in an empty hayfield. On approaching closer, the figure looked human-shaped, very tall, and covered in black hair. A group camping by a lake at night heard animal sounds go quiet followed by a very loud vocalization that rose from low to a high shrill pitch. Other campers from near the mountain came down the trail with their gear to leave, saying the scream had been right by them and they had seen something run toward and past the witness camp. The witness group did not see anything but noticed a strong dirty or wet dog smell after leaving their tents and waited until daylight to leave.

While night hunting with a dying-rabbit call, the witness heard extremely loud, threatening screams from an unseen animal on a ridge. The animal screamed three times while moving to get downwind of the witness. The witness used a powerful hunting light and reported catching its glowing eyes, and described being truly frightened.

An older brother became hysterical after seeing something peeking from behind a tree and gesturing, and later a neighbor arrived saying something had followed him in the woods. Two older girls then saw a dark form at the bottom of a trail that moved and had red eyes, and also something with a cone-shaped head peeking around a garage, and the younger children later saw a large figure pass by a window.

They retreated to the road while the unseen source followed at a distance, staying about 100 feet away.

No creature was reportedly seen clearly, and the interpretation as possible Sasquatch activity developed over later years.

Two hunters camping on a remote barrier island awoke in their tent at night to the sound of bipedal footsteps approaching. They later verified no other boats were present and concluded a person could not have been out in the freezing conditions.

At the top he found bare footprints in snow with clear toe and heel outlines, sunk deep and spaced about three of his strides apart, running north to south into trees.
