A group of five relatives on an elk-hunting trip waited on a log near a meadow at dusk. They heard paired loud wood-on-wood knocks coming from two different directions that seemed to respond to each other and to the witness's own knocking. After reuniting, the group continued to hear knocks, including a single closer knock behind them and sounds of movement behind them.

The witness and a relative were scouting elk near a mountain summit when the witness saw two dark figures about 300 yards away walking away from them. The relative did not see the figures. The two drove to the rocky ledge where the figures had been, but the figures were gone, and they noted a pair of tracks leading to the edge of a drop in old hard snow.

While backpacking and setting up camp, the witness briefly saw a long-haired, light-colored figure watching a nearby scout camp from marshy vegetation. The figure reportedly ran away on two legs with very long, silent strides toward thicker timber. The witness did not see below its shoulders or check for tracks, and later confirmed no one in the scout camp had matching light hair.

The grandfather was walking the perimeter of a family property and stopped by a creek where he encountered an intensely foul odor described as rotten meat and body odor. He found droppings in the middle of a large fallen tree bridging the creek where he doubted elk could have left them, and later noted apples and chokecherries were missing from trees that wildlife normally does not fully strip. The grandfather's dogs were unusually apprehensive, and the submitter suggested the odor came from a bigfoot.

The witness and family members were settling to sleep in their trailer at a campground late at night when they heard a distant but distinct whooping-howl sound lasting about 30 seconds. The witness reports hearing very loud recurring screams and hoot-like sounds coming from canyons near a relative's home in northern Utah over several years, first paying attention to them while camping overnight with a young relative. The sounds are described as fierce, deep, growling and primate-like with a low-frequency component, with calls lasting up to about 15 seconds in series of five or six, sometimes followed by whoops, heard at dusk or night from a mile or so away. Other family members are reported to have heard the same vocalizations over about ten years. The witness, described as a hunter familiar with native animal sounds, found alleged bigfoot recordings similar but not exactly the same.

A couple camped overnight near a stock pond and the wife stayed awake in the back of the truck with a frightened dog while her husband slept. She watched a very tall dark figure standing about 25 yards away for several minutes before it took several steps toward the pond on two legs and later disappeared. She reported no odor or other sounds besides the dog, and a morning search found no tracks.

The witness and a relative were camping overnight near a lake in the mountains when loud echoing screams woke them around 2 a.m. The witness managed to record the last two of several screams using a parabolic microphone and tape recorder. The witness noted the answering sound did not match familiar wildlife but remained unconvinced it was a sasquatch.

The witness was hiking with family members after missing a turn and ending up on an overgrown game trail. In a clearing they found a single large footprint in hard dirt that the witness could not replicate by jumping on it. They found no other prints, did not photograph it, and returned to camp frightened.

Four companions on a nighttime hike in a canyon stopped when they heard an extremely loud distant sound lasting 15-20 seconds that echoed through the mountains. The sound began like a distant motorcycle and shifted into a mechanical scream, frightening the group into running down to the valley bottom. They could not identify the source, and the reporter later felt an online Bigfoot scream recording was the closest match.
Possible late night sighting by camper near the UT/WY border
While camping with family the witness slept in a companion's vehicle because of cold and snow. Between 11pm and 2am he awoke feeling watched and saw an upright figure cross the meadow in front of the vehicle heading north. The figure was estimated at 6.5 to 7 feet tall and was visible for a few seconds at 75 to 100 yards before walking into the woods.

The witness was hunting alone from a ridge when repeated very loud, short guttural shouts or growls approached from about 200 yards to about 75 yards, accompanied by rapidly approaching breaking brush. He never saw the source but readied a camera and rifle while waiting motionless. After a spooked cow moose ran through a distant saddle, he threw rocks and fired a shot with no response and then left.

In April 1999 the witness and family were gathered around a campfire at night near a stream in the Tushar Mountains when they heard loud branch-breaking from the woods across the stream for several minutes. The sounds were followed by a human-like screaming cry that sent several children running to a nearby cabin. The witness, described as an avid hunter, said the cry matched no known local animal and thought a human prank was possible but unlikely.

The witness and family were playing ping-pong in the walk-out basement when the witness let the dog into the backyard. The dog barked and backed away from the neighbor's fence line, where the witness saw the moonlit silhouette of a tall figure's head above the fence. After watching briefly, the witness saw the figure duck, turn toward a ravine, and leave silently. The witness later interpreted the figure as possibly Bigfoot based on its height relative to the fence.

Two companions on a multi-night archery hunting and camping trip heard a loud repeated yell/scream approaching their camp late at night. After driving to investigate and hearing it from closer range, they returned to find it within about a hundred yards, also hearing walking and stick-breaking nearby. Frightened, they hastily packed their tent and left the area by truck in the early morning without ever seeing the source.
