After starting back toward the clearing they heard a single crisp wood-on-wood knock and then ran to their car.

The witness was riding a motorcycle north in the morning when a brown figure crossed the road from east to west. The figure moved quickly in a smooth bipedal walk, covering the road in three or four long strides, unlike a bounding deer. After riding through the crossing location, the witness smelled a light skunky body odor lingering for several yards.

After about ten minutes a large dark bipedal figure crossed the open area toward the treeline and stepped into the woods when the witness got out for a closer look. The witness watched from the vehicle, called someone, and recorded video on a phone. A dismantled deer carcass was found very close by.

The witness was driving east with a companion on a private dirt road in daylight when she noticed a dark, shaggy shape behind a fence near Long Creek. She described it as crouched or standing motionless, with a pointed head and broad shoulders, about three feet taller than the fence, and believed it was trying to remain unseen. The companion did not see it, and when they turned around and returned the shape was gone, but they found what they thought were two footprints nearby.
