The witness was snowmobiling with two companions in the Boundary Waters area when they found large human-like footprints in snow crossing lakes. The witness and a relative were stranded after a vehicle breakdown and were flagging traffic with flashlights. About an hour after dark they saw the silhouette of a tall, very skinny biped cross the road about 30-40 feet away toward the lake. It walked upright with a slow, smooth gait and large steps, described as kid-like, smaller than a standing bear, with long arms and a humpbacked appearance.

Two companions camping with a companion's child heard ape-like calls and slow loud knocks near a creek in the evening and knocked back with logs. Rocks were thrown into camp, and at night something bipedal walked around and brushed the tent while making sniffing sounds at the seams. The activity continued over several days with more distant knocks that seemed to approach, another large rock landing near the witness, and an ice chest found opened.

Late at night the witness and a relative were indoors when they heard monkey-like hooting at the window and noticed vegetation moving outside. The relative went outside with a firearm and saw further movement near the end of the house while the witness heard grunting sounds near another window. The household dog ran to the relative but then whimpered, backed away, and refused to approach the side of the house. After a quiet interval, the two heard only distant noises when they went out again at midnight.

Six adults driving farm dirt roads at night to look at deer found the deer fleeing the pasture. They watched a large black bipedal creature cross the road in their headlights, turn, and re-enter pines within seconds. They circled back to find the area still empty of deer.

The witness and spouse were preparing to grill in the evening when they noticed an extremely foul dead-like odor. The witness retrieved a gun, then three loud knocks or bangs sounded on the side of the shed. The spouse backed quickly away from the shed and wooded area, and they saw nothing upon looking around.

A couple driving north on a highway in the morning reported seeing a large, apelike bipedal figure moving slowly south through a palmetto and scrub field near a highway billboard. The sighting lasted only a few seconds at highway speed. Their impression was that it was tall and uniformly brownish, with brush coming up to its thighs.

Late at night the witness took a dog outside and heard movement in the densely wooded backyard. The witness then heard a deep growl followed by a loud progressive scream that seemed non-human and kept hearing vocalizations after going back inside.
