Broken trees and possible print found after swaying animal evades hunters near Grovespring
Two companions scouting a conservation area spotted a large dark bipedal figure about 150 to 200 yards away on a trail. The figure crouched, swayed, then moved quickly to the right and disappeared. The men went to the spot and found a very large fresh footprint and freshly broken small trees.

The witness was bowhunting on the morning of October 9, 2014 in rainy and foggy conditions with very limited visibility. He heard and felt three loud impacts just out of sight, described as either rocks striking the ground or something stomping hard enough to feel in his feet. Two boys were gigging for fish in a shallow river at night when they heard splashing from objects thrown into the water. They shone flashlights across the river and saw an upright human-like creature bring down a dead tree into the river and move in the water. The boys fled to their cabin, and a tree not present the day before was seen in the river the next morning.

While camping with family and friends, the witness's young son ran from a dirt road saying he saw a tall hair-covered man. Later that evening the group heard heavy walking and loud limb-snapping in the adjacent woods and noticed a dead-like smell. The next day they found a bulldozed trail with broken limbs and saplings where the sounds had come from.

The witness went deer hunting before dawn on the Missouri side of the river after fresh snow. He found large human-like barefoot tracks in the snow and followed them a short distance. The trackway went along a field edge, backtracked inside the woods, and led to willow saplings with bark stripped off, then continued into thick brush toward the river. He did not see the trackmaker and stopped tracking to continue hunting.
