Hikers find possible footprint on a trail in Frozen Head State Park
A couple hiking with their dogs in a state park heard a single knock-like sound and later a distant tree-fall sound. Off a creek-side trail they found a single large bare footprint that was larger than the reporter's shoe and did not replicate under his weight. The dogs acted fearful and the couple ended the hike early.
Witness relates rock throwing encounter while camped along the Buffalo River
The witness was solo canoe-camping on a river and went to the water's edge after dinner. He heard splashes, saw a large rock fly through the air and land near him, then shined a light and saw eyes for about two seconds before they vanished. He fired a pistol with no response and left camp for home.

The witness returned to the campground with a companion and camped overnight. After turning in for the night, while drifting in and out of sleep in his tent, he heard two wood knocks from the east and a few minutes later one wood knock from the west. Three companions were gathered at a pond bonfire late at night when one walked back toward the house alone with a shotgun. He reportedly saw eyes staring down at him off the trail, shouted, then fired all six rounds at close range before fleeing in fear. Later the reporter heard a single very loud prolonged scream from that area followed by total forest silence, and a brief morning search found almost no blood and no clear prints.
Couple finds tracks in backyard pond
The husband noticed large barefoot-like impressions in mud and shallow water while working near the pond and called his wife to see them. They described three size groupings with five toes and arches, all larger than his shod foot. No photographs were taken and the print area was later underwater.

She recalls hearing its whistling and screaming sounds as a child, while relatives reported seeing it around the home, especially at dusk when it came for vegetable scraps. Two companions rode an ATV to a clearing by a lake and built a large fire at night. Over the evening they heard deliberate footfalls, pacing and stick breaks in the treeline about sixty yards away and noticed the woods go silent. After the witness knocked on a tree and made a whoop call, they heard knocks in reply and then a long deep guttural growl. They rode toward the sound without seeing anything, then put out the fire and left feeling watched and frightened.
