Lone camper in his hammock has an eventful night near Sullivan
The witness backpacked solo to a remote campsite and spent the night in a hammock. Throughout the night he heard knocks, screams, howls, voices, footsteps, rocks and twigs landing nearby, and felt his tarp, hammock lines and gear being touched. He also noted a bent-tree structure near camp the prior evening and disturbed logs and tree piles in the morning, but reported seeing no creature.
Investigation into some footprints leads to a possible visual encounter
Two relatives found unusually large footprints soon after rain and photographed them. The larger impression was described as about 18 inches long and 6 inches wide with three clear toes and a possible fourth, with smaller tracks alongside. The prints lay at the edge of a gravel road leading downhill toward farmland.

The witness was photographing along the tree line on the south side of the lake when she heard a close grunting-snorting sound followed by a deep growl without seeing the source. Shaken, she returned toward two fishermen and then left across the dam, photographing a large print in the mud. From the car area she heard the same loud vocalization coming from across the lake where she had been and saw the fishermen hurrying across the dam, after which all parties left.
