The witness stayed awake afraid until daylight and left quickly in the morning.

The calls lasted about ten minutes and included click-like sounds at the start and a loud thud as the sources moved away. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.
