The witness was walking trails near small ponds by a parking lot and found a single bare footprint in mud at the edge of the smallest pond. The print looked fairly fresh despite recent near-freezing night temperatures and had a flat sole with even toes. The witness photographed the print and reported it without interpreting what made it.

Hikers find footprint in Perry State Park
The witness was hiking with his wife on a lakeside trail and kneeling to photograph mosses when he noticed a large footprint in soft soil. He photographed it from overhead and with his shoe for scale, but found no other prints due to heavy leaf litter. An investigator later spoke with him by phone and recorded the track dimensions, but the photos lacked sufficient detail to include.
